The Kids’ Christmas Party took place on the 23rd of December 2024 in Kamuli District. The event was organized for 200 children from various families and communities. Since Christmas is a season of love and thanksgiving, the Ophelia Brown Foundation of Hope extended its love to the children by hosting this special celebration. The children and even their parents were filled with joy and gratitude. Truly, giving is a beautiful expression of love.

The Christmas party was held on a beautiful Monday evening. Before the distribution of Christmas packages, the Director of Ophelia Brown Foundation of Hope, Mr. Johns Brown Lukoli, shared a heartfelt message with the children. He expressed his desire to see children happy and thriving, reminding them that God is loving and gave His only Son to die for our sins. He shared that he, too, received help as a child, which inspired him to help those in need today.

His message was followed by touching testimonies from some of the children who have received tuition support from the Foundation. Many of them, especially those preparing for their final exams this year, expressed deep appreciation and prayed that more children would receive similar support.

Finally, the children received their Christmas packages. Each package included a bar of soap, cooking oil, posho, rice, sugar, salt, a loaf of bread, and a large bottle of soda. This generous gesture was a powerful expression of love and care.

The Ophelia Brown Foundation of Hope has been paying school fees for many children in Kamuli, where many parents cannot afford education costs. In large families, some children are taken to school while others are left behind or even married off at a young age. The Foundation has enabled children of all ages to access education and prepare for a bright future, helping to bring lasting development to Kamuli District.

Following the meal, Mr. Johns Brown, the Director of the Ophelia Brown Foundation, shared a heartfelt message with the children. He expressed his joy in seeing children happy and succeeding in life, emphasizing the foundation’s commitment to assisting those in need. Mr. Brown, drawing from his own childhood experiences, spoke of how he was once helped and now seeks to support those facing challenges.

Some of the children who have been beneficiaries of the Ophelia Brown Foundation of Hope shared their testimonies, expressing gratitude for the financial support they received for their tuition. Many of them are candidates this year and hope that others can also receive similar assistance.

The celebration included a cake-cutting ceremony because no festivity is complete without cake. The event concluded with the distribution of Christmas packages to the kids, comprising a bar of soap, cooking oil, posho, rice, sugar, salt, a loaf of bread, and a large bottle of soda. This gesture was a profound expression of love, particularly timely due to the challenges posed by the rainy season, which had adversely affected food crops. The package was expected to sustain the families for approximately two weeks.
